Blogging: Get You Web Site Noticed!

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Recently, the notion of ‘blogging’ has gained unprecedented popularity all over the world. The word ‘blog’ is short for the term ‘web log,’ and refers to a sort of online journal which has commentary and often opinions. ‘Blogs’ are increasingly necessary if you want to promote your website.

Is it a web site? You can call it as a personal web site. What are the various types of ablogsa? In general, a blog can either be apersonala or acommerciala. Social networking web sites boast of apersonal blogsa. Are you aware of the fact that like search engines there are various ablog search enginesa too?

Using these ‘blogs’ can be a good way to grow your online business, as blogging has been confirmed as a great way to increase traffic. If you want to learn more about blogging, search ‘blog’ and ‘to get traffic,’ which will give you much more information.

Now let us discuss some of the proven techniques to increase traffic using ablogsa. The simplest way to increase traffic is to post a number of ablogsa on a daily basis. Most people post a few ablogsa and then never care to post more ablogsa. This must be avoided.

A second technique has to do with keeping your blog short and snappy. Make it interesting! People don’t waste their time with an irrelevant rambling blog. A third technique for blogging is Search Engine Optimization. Optimizing your blog is vital.

Yet another way to get your blog noticed is to write your opinion on other blogs. To get more information on this, as well as other techniques, visit forums and use the phrase: \”How can you use a blog to get traffic.\”

Don’t forget that writing good content is crucial to get your site noticed, otherwise why would people bother to read it? You can also use social book marking web sites. Blogging is a great way to increase your web site’s traffic.

A good thing to do is to use ‘free classified’ websites in which to post your blog. Just keep asking yourself the question: \”How do I increase my traffic using blogging?\” Even novices in the web world can gain a decent chunk of change with blogging if they get popular enough.

How To Write A Perfect Blog

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

The primary goal of a blog is to persuade your visitors to read the contents. As the internet is flooded with blogs on any topic that anyone can imagine, it is really a hard job to keep the attention of the visitors.

Most of the time visitors just scan the blog for any points that catch their attention than reading the entire blog. So the main goal when writing a goal becomes to catch the attention of the visitor in the first few seconds so that they continue to read the entire blog. Given below are few helpful points to keep in mind when writing a blog post.

Grab the attention of the visitor: The first approach is to write small two or three sentence paragraphs divided into sections with bold section headings. The visible section headings will make it easy for the visitor to get an idea of the entire writing and then select the section he is most interested in. This way they would decide whether to read or not a blog. So keep the section headings crisp and attention grabbing.

When is the last time you looked for an interesting illustration or photo to go with your blog posting? Even an odd looking illustration will force the reader to pause and ingest this information. Capture their attention with the image, and they may stay to read your blog to learn more.

Fire away with bullet points: Bullets points in lists are highly effective in quickly conveying your points in a condensed format. Such brief points attracts the blog reader to read and more importantly think of what you have stated. Reading such concise points builds interest and increases the odds they will read the rest of your blog.

Build the article and then craft the title: It seems obvious but the title really needs to be the distillation of the article. Its much easier to pen the attention getting headline title after you have completed the entire thought of the article and it is still fresh in your mind.

Every now and then writing a divisive title or going against the normal way of common thinking about a topic is the most excellent way to get the visitorsa attention. But if you are using controversial topics make sure that you have sufficient matter in the content to substantiate your title.

Engage the reader to take action by posing a question: Readers will help you add content to your blog site if you provide the hook for their input by comments and questions. Add interest to your blog by having others respond to your questions.

Search Engine Optimisation: the Basics

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008
by Ashley Bryan

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is still one of the most overlooked and under utilised means of advertising a website, and even many web development companies seem to have trouble understanding it, and applying it to the websites they design and develop. SEO is simply the process whereby a website is designed and developed with a view to it being well indexed on one or more search engines.

Search engines are the cornerstone of your website marketing campaign because the majority of websites are still found via search engines. Here are some commonly asked questions about SEO:

Is it free?

For the most part adding your site to a search engine is still free, although with the huge number of websites now going live the wait for your site to appear on that search engine can be long (several months). This is especially true of International search engines, many of whom have introduced paid “express submissions”. These can be value for money, but be careful.

Submit to 15,000,000 search engines for free?

Don’t you believe it. I do not recommend any company use these tools to submit their website to search engines. These services can spam search engines with your URL, an effectively get you banned or certainly prevent you from submitting your site again under controlled conditions. Submit your site to search engines one at a time. Remember: do it once and do it right!

What are the tricks then?

There are several key things, which need to be considered:

1. Domain name. Perhaps the most easily overlooked, a domain name that “says it all” about your business is really the first step 2. Meta tags. While not the answer to your prayers, they are vital to good search engine rankings 3. Keyword density and layout. Attention to keyword density in your both your meta tags, and site text is essential.

Another thing to remember: search engine optimize every page in your site separately, and relevant to the topic of that page.

Website Traffic: Not All Visitors are Equal

Friday, August 8th, 2008
by Jill Brennan

People talk incessantly about - gaining more website traffic - but they rarely mention that a site really needs targeted website traffic. The only way to have a successful site is to court targeted website traffic — or people who keep coming back to your site, visiting one page after another.

Targeted website traffic includes people who are actually interested in what your site offers. They have been -targeted- for that very reason. For example, when you look at a book ad on Amazon.com, they show you books other people bought who also liked the one you were looking at. That’s because it is reasonable to assume that if you’re interested in the first one, you’ll be interested in others like it. They are targeting a fantasy fan for their fantasy books, instead of trying to sell them to random people. That is what you need to do as well.

Targeted website traffic by no means guarantees traffic. Targeting only increases your chances of hitting the right audience. You don’t want to randomly lure people to your site and hope for the best. That’s a waste of time.

Internet loiterers, while harmless, do nothing for sales. You might have a hundred people visit your site, but only ten of them actually buy anything.

The starting point for building traffic is to look at the keywords that you’re using on your site and then see what keywords visitors are using to search. Words are the starting point for any internet search. If someone wanted to find soft dice they could hang from the rear view mirro in their car then they will type related words into a search engine.

This is why you’ll often hear internet marketers talking about ‘getting inside the head of the prospect’. What would they type into a search engine in order to find fuzzy dice? Would it be “car dice”, “furry dice”, “soft hanging dice”? Or some other variation that you’ve never thought of? Picking the right keywords is about improving your chances of success.

So what else are you selling along with your fuzzy hanging rearview mirror car dice? You can’t get targeted website traffic if you don’t know who you’re targeting, so figure out just what kind of site you have. Should car dice should be sold at a car accessories site, a weird gifts site, or a kitsch site? They should be sold on a site that has other merchandise that will appeal to the fuzzy dice people-like fuzzy steering wheel covers, or even animal print clothing, if it’s a retro shop. That approach will get you more website traffic.

Nobody can give you guaranteed traffic. Internet traffic is like the stock market — you can make predictions, but you can’t always know for sure whether the risk will pay off. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t significantly improve your odds of getting more website traffic by going after targeted website traffic. Go after the people who want what you have and, believe me, you will see some results.

Website Traffic: Getting The Right Visitors

Thursday, August 7th, 2008
by Jill Brennan

Targeted website traffic is by no means a guessing game. It is an exact science that takes time and effort to get right. The only way to get more website traffic is to reach the audience you designed your website after.

The only way your site can be successful is if the visitors find your information useful. For example, consider browsing for books on Amazon.com: when you buy a book, the site gives you suggestions for other books in that category. The company figures that if you bought one book on a specific subject, others on similar subjects might interest you. You’ve just been targeted. While targeted website traffic won’t give you guaranteed traffic, it will increase your chances of reaching the correct audience.

Targeted website traffic by no means guarantees traffic. Targeting only increases your chances of hitting the right audience. You don’t want to randomly lure people to your site and hope for the best. That’s a waste of time.

Although they don’t really hurt anything by being there, you don’t want to waste time courting them, just hoping they will like what they see and become a fan or a customer. It is up to you to take advantage of all the marketing knowledge out there, just waiting for you use.

Keywords are the building blocks when it comes to traffic, whether its paid or free traffic. Because searching on the internet is driven by people typing in what they are looking for, they have to use words to describe what it is they want. They can’t use their hands or facial gestures, it has to be words. For example, if they wanted big furry dice that they could hang in their car, they will type associated words into their preferred search engine to seek out what they want.

To both maximise your web traffic and build even more you need to have other items that your fuzzy dice seeking consumer is also likely to be interested in. In order to do this, you need to know more about your customers. Are they male or female? Under 25 or over 40? Perhaps a car accessory site is the best fit. Or maybe an unusual gift type site is a better mix. Without understanding the interests of your likely web visitors, its difficult to get your pitch right.

Targeted website traffic is like playing the stock market — you can make predictions based on careful research, but you will never know exactly whether your predictions will translate into sales. All you can do is increase the odds of driving more website traffic to your site through targeting your audience.

Free Website Traffic Without Spending A Fortune

Monday, July 14th, 2008
by Doug Taylor

You can find several different programs around that promise you free website traffic which could help you meet your goals. However you should take a careful look at these types of programs and take the time to compare different programs. No mater how good something looks you may want to make sure free doesn’t mean free for a trail period

Certainly the right free website traffic service is going to be the one which will provide you with those visitors who can turn your business into a success. Although you may be using these programs to get more visitors to your site you also want to be in a position where these visitors are actually spending money with you as well.

You might find such a service that will work for you but it is just as likely that you will not. One of the best ways to spend your time is to work on getting good traffic to your site yourself. This article will look at a few ways to increase traffic without having to pay someone else.

You should start out by making your site as search engine friendly as you can. Spend some time each day and submit to some of the directories. Do not just submit to the bigger directories as the smaller ones can add up fast. If you can get your web pages listed in some directories it will help you with your search engine rankings.

Secondly you can have set up your own affiliate program. Although you will need to pay your affiliate members a percentage from each sale made, it is them who are doing all the legwork to get those customers to come to you. The easiest way of providing details about your own affiliate program is to submit it to various affiliate program websites such as ClickBank and by directly contacting those owners of websites, which are related to yours.

Another thing you may want to try is setting up a links page on your site. You should make sure you trade links in a three-way fashion if at all possible. You link to someone’s site and they link to you from a different site. Once you get your page set up try contacting other site owners to see if they would like to trade links with you.

One last way that will get free website traffic to your website is to post answers in discussion forums or to post comments on blogs. You should try to be helpful and only post useful content. Only reply according to what is being asked. Give good answers and provide a link to your site and people will click through.

As you can see getting free website traffic just takes a little time and work. Spend some of the time you work on your business to learn and educate yourself. It will pay off when you start seeing more people stopping by your website

4 Powerful Strategies to Increase Your Website Traffic

Monday, July 7th, 2008
by D. Hatcher

The most important thing Internet marketers need is traffic. Without traffic (targeted traffic) how would you make any sales? It doesn’t matter how good your website is traffic is key. You could have the best headlines and sales copy on the planet and it wouldn’t make a bit of difference in your bottom line. That is because, without a sufficient amount of traffic you will not do very well. This article is going to reveal four very simple things that can be put to use immediately. These are time tested and proven methods for getting targeted traffic to flow to your capture page.

Write articles. This is an often overlooked technique that does more than just bring traffic to you. It places you in the position to show your expertise and build trust in your prospects’ minds. The value and the implications of this particular concept is often underestimated. People have to trust you or value your opinion if they are going to order from you. People will pass you by if they don’t first feel comfortable with you. Submitting articles is a great way to “break the ice”.

Here is what to do. Write a series of articles relating to your particular market. Submit two articles per week to major article sites such as ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com. At the bottom of the article is an area that is referred to as the “resource” area. You can have a signature (or bio) in that area. You can include information about your website and include a link to your webpage. If people value the information you offer, they will click the link and be taken to your website. This is why it is extremely important to provide useful, high quality information. People will only want to visit your website if you give them something of value first.

Exchange links with popular sites. This method is effective in several ways. First, you will get traffic and increase search engine ranking through the links that are posted on other sites. Also, as additional websites link to your site, your search engine rankings begin to rise. This can be a significant source of traffic. Showing up on the first few page in major search engines for your keywords can bring you hundreds or thousands of visitors per month.

Here is how to get links to your site. Look up sites that relate to the theme of your website. Ask them to do a link exchange with you. In the email provide a link to the page that you are displaying their link on. Now the ball is in their court. They will either accept your offer or not. If they refuse to do an exchange with you take their link off of your site.

Use Pay Per Click advertising. Although Pay Per Click costs money, it can be a very good way to drive targeted traffic to your site. If you select your keywords with care and make proper bidding choices it can be a very cost effective and useful tool to add to your marketing plan. Google Adwords and Overture are the two top Pay Per Click companies. However, Yahoo and MSN offer pay per click advertising as well, often for less cost per click than the “big guys.” To get the most out of Pay Per Click advertising you need to be armed with at least a bit of knowledge on the subject. I suggest buying a book or ebook on the in’s and out’s of pay per click advertising before starting a campaign.

Submit videos to video sites. Making and posting Videos to Youtube of the best ways to get yourself “found” on the internet. Good quality videos can also be made with the most basic equipment. For instance, you can use a small digital camera that has a movie mode or an inexpensive webcam. You can also make videos from still pictures. So you actually can do videos without a movie camera at all! Processing your movie can be done using a free video editing program that is part of your Windows operating system.

Here is what to do. Make a short and to the point video and do whatever editing you wish to do to it. Upload it to Youtube and give it a title and description based on it’s content. There are things you can do to make sure that it is seen by many people. For example make sure you use keywords or “tags” that target the audience that you are going after. Probably the best way to learn about how to do good video is to watch some of the most viewed videos that relate to your topic or business. Note the decriptions and tags that these videos use.

While any one of the traffic generating strategies mentioned above can make a difference in your marketing efforts, I suggest using all of them. Doing this will give you more traffic in the shortest timeframe. The more you put into the methods discussed in this article the better they will work.
